Course Summary

A 2 day course introducing traditional blacksmiths skills. This course will give you an insight into the Blacksmiths craft and allow you to experience first-hand the elementary techniques of this most ancient of crafts.

This course is aimed at students with no experience and will teach you basic fire-management and techniques in order to produce several decorative pieces including decorative wall hooks and a basic set of fire irons.

All of our courses are run by professional or retired Blacksmiths.

The course covers an introduction to the anvil, forge and tools and the basic skills of the blacksmiths craft including twisting, bending and drawing down.

  • Class size will be limited to a maximum of 8.
  • Students will gain enough skills knowledge to make simple projects e.g. candleholders, pokers
  • Membership of the Guild is included in the cost of non-member tickets
