Anglo Saxon BladeThis exciting 2 day course will provide experienced smiths with the opportunity to learn the techniques for hand forging a composite pattern welded Anglo- Saxon Seax from a combination of high and low carbon steels.

The history, design and use of the Seax will be presented and at the end of the weekend students will have forged their own blade.

The course will not be suitable for novices. Students must have at least several years’ experience.

Students will learn and practice under the expert eye of Dave Mortimer who is an expert in Viking and Anglo Saxon history and metalworking.

The number of places is limited to 8 which provides for the best possible learning environment so early application is recommended. A minimum of 5 students is required for the course to become financially viable.

1 year membership of the Guild is included with Non Member tickets.
